The Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree,is held each year in mid-October.  Watch for announcements for the 2012 event,  See www.sunvalleyjazz.com

Northern Idaho: (Panhandle down to Lewiston area)
The Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, is held at the University of Idaho each February. The 2012 Festival (45th annual LHJF) will be held Feb 22-25.  The grammy award winning gospel vocal group, The Blind Boys of Alabama, will be among the special guests.  Visit the LHJF website for details for more information including artists bios, ticket sales, etc. http://www.uidaho.edu/jazzfest.
 
McCall:
Sunday and Monday night Live Music at the Shore Lodge in McCall
Every Sunday and Monday evening, from 6-9 pm, the hotel offers free live music in the Narrows Grill by many of the Boise and other area jazz musicians such as Steve Eaton, Sally Tibbs & Kevin Kirk, Ben Burdick & Bill Liles, etc.  This is open to the general public as well as hotel guests and provides a casual yet elegant environment suitable for this standard of entertainment.  The bar is full service, including an array of martinis and cocktails,  and also offers a variety of bistro plates and appetizers.  The calendar page lists those events that are jazz.  But other great music is there for your enjoyment as well!
